DEDICA TO PACO IGNACIO TAIBO II

Presentation of the book “Dedica a Paco Ignacio Taibo II”
guest speakers: Paco Ignacio Taibo II and Pietro Cheli

The book “Dedica a Paco Ignacio Taibo II” is a compendium of texts compiled by people dear to and friends of the writer.

The book starts with a biographical portrait by journalist Paolo Cheli, who writes “If I were to tell you one day that Paco Ignacio II has performed, and performs, miracles, risking being proclaimed a saint, don’t believe it. But if I told you that there are myths circulating around him that seem unbelievable, believe it”.

A long, four-handed interview curated by Bruno Arpaia and Pino Cacucci forms the main body of the book: a chat that “investigates” the artistic and human journey of Paco Ignacio Taibo II and which aims to explore the many facets of the writer’s civic and literary engagement and, at the same time, sketch his personality.

This is followed by an affectionate dedication by the writer’s brother, the poet Benito Taibo, entitled “Caino e Caino”, one by his father Paco Ignacio Taibo I and an unpublished piece by Paco Ignacio, who on his relationship with writing says: “Ever since I have possessed what they call the use of reason, I have known that writing, paper scrawled with letters is my destiny, my pleasure and my doom”.

A biography and bibliography complete the book.
