The poetics of truth will be the theme of the fourteenth edition of Dedica; the poetics of Nadine Gordimer, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature; the poetics of a woman and an intellectual for whom “writing is an exploration of self and at the same time of the world, of individual and collective being”. Starting with the rich and powerful intellectual and human story of the featured author, the Festival proposes, as is customary, an articulated cultural itinerary and does so using the tools of dialogue, words and art: for two weeks, meetings, theatre, music, photography, cinema and readings will give an account of the artistic, civil and social engagement of one whose creed is “courage in life and talent in deeds”.
Promoted and organised by the Thesis Associazione Culturale, the festival is supported by public bodies, in particular by the Municipality of Pordenone and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region – and a number of important local private entities: Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Udine e Pordenone, Coop Consumatori Nord Est, Electrolux, Ente Regionale Teatrale del Friuli Venezia Giulia.
“Dedica a Nadine Gordimer” has received the Silver Medal of the President of the Republic.
