The Festival

The Dedica programme each year proposes an in-depth study of an author and his or her poetics, engagement and socio-cultural spheres. It proposes a journey for the mind and has become a much anticipated event shared by many people, and over the years has involved a great many figures from Italian and international culture.

The fifteenth edition represents an additional source of pride, a stage in a journey that we hope is still long and rich in content, meetings and ideas. The featured author of this edition is Paul Auster, one of the greatest contemporary writers. “Meccaniche dell’esistenza” (mechanisms of existence) is the common thread of the Festival’s foundation project, which over the course of two weeks proposes an articulated cultural itinerary ranging from conversations, exhibitions and conferences to animated readings, music and cinema in order to explore the complex system of existence, its dynamics, chance and the imponderable coincidences of life.

Promoted and organised by the Thesis Associazione Culturale, the project is supported by public bodies, in particular by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, the Municipality of Pordenone, the Province of Pordenone and a number of important local private entities: Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Udine e Pordenone, Ente Regionale Teatrale del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Coop Consumatori Nord Est, Electrolux, Maliparmi.

“Dedica a Paul Auster” has received the Silver Medal of the President of the Republic.
