Reading of the homonymous tale by Cees Nooteboom
curated by Anna Bonaiuto
for Thesis/Dedica Festival
Heinz is one of the eight tales in the book The Foxes Come at Night by Cees Nooteboom. But who is Heinz? It is the name of an honorary consul, an entrepreneur who chose to live in the Ligurian riviera, close to the frequently stormy sea that is his only true company. Like one of Hemingway’s characters, he was born to get lost, with his desperate vitality, his perfect dives, litres of gin to fight nostalgia, and the dream to move to Tonga island, where with one step it is possible to stride over the imaginary line that separates today from yesterday.
Anna Bonaiuto
