The Festival

Dedica is a path that from year to year offers an in-depth study of an author and his work, his commitment, his cultural fields.

Through the intertwining of different languages and artistic expressions, over the course of two weeks, conversations, theatre, books, music, conferences, exhibitions, cinema take place to fuel encounter, dialogue and confrontation.
It is the proposal of a journey of the mind, which has become an event awaited and shared by many people, which, over the years, has involved great protagonists of Italian and international culture.

The 17th edition of Dedica revolves around the figure of Cees Nooteboom, Dutch writer, essayist and poet whose literary research is considered among the most intense and original of the entire world literature.
“The search for the other and the elsewhere” is the distinctive feature of Cees Nooteboom, a figure where journey is not only a shift in the concrete reality of geographical space, in places inhabited by other people, but it is also an opportunity to rediscover forgotten inner worlds, a meeting place with oneself and a metaphor for new research paths.

Promoted and organized by Thesis Cultural Association, the project is supported by public bodies, especially the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, the Municipality of Pordenone, the Province of Pordenone and some important private subjects of the territory: Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Udine e Pordenone, Ente Regionale Teatrale del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Coop Consumatori Nordest, Electrolux, Veneto Banca Holding, Maliparmi.

“Dedica to Cees Nooteboom” was awarded the Silver Medal of the Italian Republic President.
