Presentation of Tahar Ben Jelloun’s latest book
the author in conversation with Antonella Fiori
The main character in this new novel by Tahar Ben Jelloun, which was published in France at the beginning of 2014 and is published in Italy by Bompiani for the Dedica festival, is a very energetic 60-year-old man, highly successful in his profession and with women; due to a tumour, he is obliged to undergo a series of surgical operations. Even more than the discovery of his tumour, the man is disturbed by the idea that the operations will force him to change his way of life. After the operation, he attempts to resume his normal routine, but he finds it increasingly difficult to do so. In the end, however, he discovers that life still has a lot to offer.
