Words on the stage
The course comprises a study of the personality of Yasmina Khadra by examining his literary world, as well as a reading from some of his most important works, participation in the festival’s main events and a meeting with the author. During the Festival the students will have the privilege to personally meet the great author at the San Francesco former Convent on Wednesday 9 March at 15:30.

A project whose aim is to actively involve young people, who are asked to translate the impressions they receive from reading some of the author’s work into the preferred form, whether a short essay or the creation of an image in any format inspired to the works of Yasmina Khadra.

Coop Alleanza 3.0 Prize
As in previous years COOP Consumatori Nord Est did, COOP Alleanza 3.0 confirms also for this year an award for the Upper High Schools taking part in Dedica School Project. The prize, which will be selected by a jury as part of “Words and Images for Yasmina Khadra “, will be awarded to the class or group of students in recognition of a particular collective commitment.

Dedica Special Award
The Dedica Special Award is offered by the Pordenone municipal authorities as part of the “Europa e Giovani 2016” competition proposed by IRSE – Regional Institute for European Studies, in the section reserved for university students. Three awards will be presented to the authors of the best essays on the works of Yasmina Khadra, following the theme of “literature vs news reporting” quoted from an interview given by the French-Algerian writer on his novels Le rondini di Kabul, Le sirene di Baghdad, L’attentatrice: “I don’t invent anything. All I do is focus on the tragic events that the world TVs throw in our face like dust in our eyes before overclouding us with other news reports, just as fleeting as they are elusive: a sort of snack just nibbled at and immediately digested, which little by little trivialises atrocity and accustoms us to indifference”.

Dedica on Bookblog at the Turin Book Show
Also this year, Dedica co-operates with the International Book Fair in Turin. The various meetings held during the Festival will be documented in the Book Fair section assigned to the BookBlog, an online  newspaper created by students with the aim of providing information concerning the personalities, ideas and events featured in other major festivals in Italy. The events organized for the Dedica festival will be documented by a group of bloggers from the Liceo Grigoletti high school in Pordenone, coordinated by professors Pier Paola Busetto and Antonella Dal Corso.
