Dedica for School
Dedica continues to focus very closely on the younger generations, organizing special courses for students from secondary schools in the Province of Pordenone with the aim of giving them the opportunity of getting to know some of the important writers in the international literary scene.
WORDS ON THE STAGE
The course comprises a study of the personality of Björn Larsson by examining his literary world, as well as a reading from some of his most important works, participation in the festival’s main events and a meeting with the author. During the Festival the students will have the privilege to personally meet the great author at the San Francesco former Convent on Wednesday 15 March at 15:00.
WORDS AND IMAGES FOR BJÖRN LARSSON
A project whose aim is to actively involve young people, who are asked to translate the impressions they receive from reading some of the author’s work into the preferred form, whether a short essay or the creation of an image in any format inspired to the works of Björn Larsson.
DEDICA SPECIAL AWARD
This award has been created by the Municipality of Pordenone within the framework of the “Europe and its Young People 2017” competition proposed by IRSE – Istituto Regionale Studi Europei (Regional Institute for European Studies), in the section reserved to university students. Three prizes will be awarded to the authors of the best essays on the works of Björn Larsson and the themes of “Storie di pirati and non solo”: «As far back as La vera storia del pirata Long John Silver, Björn Larsson has frequently recounted adventures which give the sense of a seeking for freedom. His notion of literature as the art of the possible, too, is inspired by freedom. Express your thoughts by analysing one or more of the works of the guest author at the Dedica Festival 2017».
