Inauguration of an exhibition of photographs by Inti Ocón
presented by Angelo Bertani
with the participation of Inti Ocón and Gioconda Belli
Photography and literature, if they are truly an integral part of man, can converge into a common commitment to analyse reality and, where necessary, to signal anomalies. The exhibition dedicated to the photography of Inti Ocón is divided into two areas of his life: the first recounts the student protests and civil unrest against the authoritarian government in Nicaragua, while the second illustrates a number of traditional feast days and many aspects of day-to-day life there; in effect, these are two converging series of images which represent a nation that strives proudly to defend its cultural identity via a difficult and tortuous process of democratization.
The exhibition will be open from 10th March to 14th April:
from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Sunday a.m. 10:30-12:30 / p.m. 04:00-07:00
Free admission
The exhibition catalogue, edited for Thesis by Angelo Bertani, will be on sale during the festival at a cost of €10.00, or can be ordered on the festival’s website shop.
