Hisham Matar was nineteen years old when his father was kidnapped and imprisoned in Libya. He never saw his father again, and never learned of his fate. As a result, his return to his home country after twenty-two years in exile turned into an intimate and heart-wrenching trip in which he had to face the pain and loss, though he has not lost the hope of seeing and living a better future.



Michele Riondino
Actor and director Michele Riondino graduated at the “Silvio D’Amico” Academy of Art in Rome. In addition to his work in the theatre and cinema, he has acted in TV series including Distretto di PoliziaIl giovane MontalbanoIl segreto dell’acquaLa mossa del cavalloLa guerra è finita. His films include: Il passato è una terra stranieraFortapàscNoi credevamoGli sfioratiIl giovane favolosoMeraviglioso Boccaccio and La ragazza del mondo, for which he was awarded the Pasinetti prize at the Venice Film Festival.


Teho Teardo
Composer, musician and designer Teho Teardo has made a number of albums in which he explores the relationship between electronic music and traditional instruments.
He works with many important figures in the international music scene, including Blixa Bargeld and Alexander Balanescu. As a composer, has worked in cinema with directors including Daniele Vicari, Paolo Sorrentino and Ildiko Enyedi. He has also worked extensively in the British theatre, with Enda Walsh and Cillian Murphy and the Royal Court Theatre.
He also won the David di Donatello award for the soundtrack of Il Divo and numerous nominations for awards in the Italian cinema industry.
