ALL WILL BE FORGOTTEN

(Tutto sarà dimenticato)
exhibition of illustrations by Pierre Marquès
for the book Tout sera oublié, produced by Mathias Énard
presentation by Angelo Bertani
with the participation of Mathias Énard and Pierre Marquès

In our shallow present-day, there is always the risk of images being interpreted superficially, creating a facile emotion or a cursory aesthetic. We often forget the fact that images, and especially those generated by the arts, are in reality a product of the memory, not of the moment of perception, which is only a trigger.
The plates by Pierre Marquès for Tout sera oublié by Mathias Énard resemble the pages of a diary of reflections in an itinerary of consciousness in certain circles of contemporary hell: they are plates for an impossible monument/admonition if the present-day continues to be devoid of consciousness; they are, on the other hand, images for a collective memory if we truly want to gain a responsible understanding of our history.

The exhibition will be open until 3 April at the following times:
– Tuesday to Saturday: 9.30 am-1.00 pm and 2.30 pm-6.00 pm (Saturday until 7.00 pm)
– Sunday: 10.30 am-12.30 am and 4.00-7.00 pm
