Francesca Todesco
She is an associate professor of French and Francophone Literature at the University of Udine, Department of Languages and Literature, Communication, Education and Society (DILL). Her research moves from the eighteenth century – the work of J.-J. Rousseau in particular – to contemporary French literature – the novels and ‘livres d’artiste’ of Michel Butor – to the religious writing of the Counter Reformation.
She is a specialist in French-language literature of North Africa, and has written many studies (on A. Serhane, H. Bouraoui, A. Djebar, J. Pélégri, M. Dib, …), she takes part in and organizes conferences and study days and co-directs and collaborates with different scholarly journals. For some years, she has also studied the French-speaking community in the Middle East.
