SOMETIMES, THE BASTARD IS A FANTASTIC GUY WHO GIVES UP

Exhibition of the illustrations of Pierre Alary
for the graphic novels based on the novels of Sorj Chalandon
Mon traître and Retour à Killybegs
and FIRST ITALIAN presentation of their Italian translation
hosted by Riccardo Pasqual
with participation of Pierre Alary and Sorj Chalandon

Pierre Alary’s illustrations and cartoons in the two graphic novels Mon traître (Italian translation: Il mio traditore) and Retour à Killybegs (Italian translation: Ritorno a Killybegs) give life and vividness to two parallel stories that are experienced from two different points of view: the point of view of Antoine, a Parisian instrument maker who is fascinated by Ireland, its culture and its people, and the point of view of Tyrone Meehan, the IRA leader and veteran of every battle against British power. A deep and sincere friendship developed between them, but Tyrone turned out to be a traitor, an agent who had been in the pay of the English for more than twenty-five years…
