A princess, the victim of a magic spell which causes her to sleep for a hundred years; two children who become lost at sea and are rescued by a fisherman; an acid-tongued queen mother who pays an ogre to murder her beautiful daughter-in-law… in a single, surprising plot, Tahar Ben Jelloun weaves the threads of well-known and less well-known fables, using his ironic and at times unusual language. His work will be an opportunity to wander through the world of Moroccan fables – which are linked to our vast repertoire of Mediterranean fantasy – accompanied by the voice of Chiara Carminati and the musical fantasy of Gianluca Magnani.

Chiara Carminati
writes and translates books for children, organizes workshops and literary meetings at libraries, schools and bookstores. She is a specialist in teaching poetry appreciation, and conducts courses for teachers and librarians, both in Italy and abroad. Chiara Carminati collaborates with illustrators and musicians in preparing performances and creative workshops based on her books. Her latest books include: Parto (with Massimiliano Tappari, Panini), Belle Bestie (with Altan and Giovanna Pezzetta, Panini), L’estate dei segreti (Einaudi Ragazzi), Mare (Rizzoli). In 2012 Chiara Carminati received the Andersen “Best Author” prize.

Gianluca Magnani
graduated in music at the Istituto Tonelli in Carpi as a classical guitarist, and today organizes music workshops in nursery schools and elementary schools. In parallel with his teaching activities, he performs in numerous contemporary music concerts and also plays in a rock band. With his band “I Flexus” he has created Mille papaveri rossi, La storia del rock and, in collaboration with Alessia Canducci, E per questo resisto.
