Screening of documentary film
by Francesco Conversano and Nene Grignaffini
produced by Movie Movie for Rai3 (Italy, 2000) – duration 51 minutes
introduced by the authors with Björn Larsson
To understand the world of Björn Larsson is to understand the places that are important to him. In this film, the author takes us into his microcosm: the University of Lund in Sweden, where he is a lecturer in French Language and Literature; Gilleleje, a tiny Danish fishing village near Helsingør and Hamlet’s castle, where Larsson lives when on terra firma; and “Rustica”, the sailing boat which he uses in all his travels. These are the places where Larsson is able to reflect on life, literature and freedom.
Francesco Conversano and Nene Grignaffini
are the writers, directors and producers of documentary films. Since 1980 they have directed, staged and produced more than one hundred performances with which they have participated in national and international festivals, winning a number of major awards such as the David di Donatello for the best full-length documentary with their film Il bravo gatto prende i topi. Over the last ten years, they have directed a series of documentary films dedicated to the relationship between “places and writing”, global megacities, growing countries in Asia (especially China and India), the United States and the American way of life. Dedica was honoured to present their film during the course of a previous edition dedicated to Paco Ignacio Taibo II and Tahar Ben Jelloun.
