Spain today: paradigm of a greater reality?
Conversation with Javier Cercas, Ignacio Martínez de Pisón and David Trueba
presented by Bruno Arpaia
A discussion between three of Spain’s most respected cultural intellectuals, focusing on the events which, as a result of the recent grave economic crisis, have torn Spain apart over the last two years. Once more at the beginning of 2013, magistrates, lawyers, nurses and blue-collar workers have taken to the streets to strike against the austerity measures imposed by the Spanish government. The crisis also saw the birth of the “indignados” citizens’ movement, which has organized mass demonstrations calling for an “ethical revolution” that would place money at the service of mankind rather than the other way round. Can any similarities be found with the current situation in Italy?
